28:02:08 deconstructed returns!!!
DC Live 4.1: Russ Jones (Victor Malloy/Inertia) Having had a break over Christmas, we are launching a new series of music nights next week, on THURSDAY February 28th 2008, at the well-appointed Falmouth Townhouse (Grove Place, Falmouth), from 8pm - midnight.
We'll be playing some records before making room for the infinitely more talented Russell Jones. Prior to galavanting around the southern states of the US on a record finding tour, Russ spent a year locked in a Brighton recording studio producing the debut album from the soon-to-be-massive The Pangs (Check Myspace or watch the video to the wonderful Fighterplane, here).

25:10:07 two icons, two women

Actually we've been incorrectly billed as The Decasia Twns but this will not be an experimental set, rather it's a few choice psychedelic nuggets in between a George Kuchar short, the Nico Icon stage play, and a screening of Factory Girl all for the price of one ticket!! (click on the pic for full page details)
12:10:07 fashion
So we're playing the launch of the UCF Fashion Courses this Friday. Stricly invite we're afraid so unfortunately you'll miss the retro/pre-punk/post punk/electroclash/it could get dirty/music for models mix up that we have planned. EDIT Actually it wasn't nearly as glitzy as it sounds and we promise never to whore ourselves in such a shameful way again.

14:08:07 aka the decasia twins
We played out under one of our many alter egos last night playing tracks to accompany a screening of an old Falmouth Tourist Board film entitled Falmouth: Gem of the West filmed between 1955 and 1957. Plans to construct a set built entirely around samples from the period were scuppered by a complete lack of preparation (although we did manage to slip in topical spoken word references to the Suez Crisis and the launch of Sputnik . Yes we winged it but it worked... or so we are told. The ongoing Decasia Twins project maybe revived for the Cornwall Film Festival in November...watch this space.
31:08:07: q bar with victor malloy
Deconstructed say "The esteemed Victor Malloy joins us for DC 3.9 on August 31 2007. Victor specialises in high brow, low volume music, which suits us. His sophomore full length, "Lions and Tigers and Bears," is still available, and heartily recommended - our favourite track is the Fionn Regan tear jerker, The Girl Who Wasn't There. Listen to it here, and read our profile of Monsieur Malloy here. We did a label feature too here."
24:08:07: godolphin house
Private view gig at Godolphin House for Hidden Art Cornwall. Hopefully we'll be kicking up a Notting Hill / Good Times vibe in honour of the Bank Holiday weekend.
27:07:07 rewind
It was a skewed night at the Q bar for sure with Parker, Kingsley and Karl all taking one deck each...joining the dots on the hoof.
1. Ashford & Simpson - Bourgie Bourgie
2. La Charanga - Ain't No Stopping Us Now
3. Lalo Schifrin - Jaws
4. Manu Dibango - Soul Makossa
5. Horace Silver - Not Enough Mama

27:07:07: q bar with spoonful's parker
It'll be a residents only night (with Spoonful's Parker planning to drop in at some point) at Deconstructed Live on July 27th at Falmouth's Q Bar.
Deconstructed says "The Guardian's John Mitchell kindly profiled us in Saturday's Guide in March which was mighty kind of him. As John puts it, "By their own admission, the Deconstructed DJs don't get many wedding gigs; with Falmouth's happy couples preferring the more trad delights of Robbie and Beyoncé.This is a shame because their wholly inappropriate sets of big band Hendrix covers, movie scores, surf rock, broken electronica, Erik Satie, Cuban rhythm and African hip-hop would surely make any post-nuptial knees-up remembered for years. The DJs are music journalist Kingsley Marshall and ex-film critic Karl Phillips, who combine an eager yet inept mixing technique with a passion for the strange. Over the last five years they've enticed names like Rob Da Bank, Chris Coco and Tom Middleton down the A30 with little more than the offer of meagre payment, real ale and a fresh fish supper. Friday's session is a residents-only affair which, in his instance, is no bad thing."
